Atama-yama

6.10.2017

“Atama-yama” (“Mount Head”) by Kōji Yamamura is a short animation adapted from the traditional Japanese fable about a man who swallows a cherry pit, only to find that a cherry tree has grown out of his head. The man tries to deal with this awkward side effect, but it gets him into trouble. With its unique visual style, “Atama-yama” stands out among the animations created in the Country Of Cherry Blossoms.
